Issued the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics Annual Bulletin of university education in Egypt (government - private) In 2006/2007 was the most important indicators:

  • The evolution of the number of students enrolled in Egyptian universities, governmental organizations during the period (1999/2000 - 2006/2007) of 1354204 students in 1999/2000 compared with 1875943 students in 2006/2007, an increase of 38.53%.

  • The total number of students enrolled in Egyptian universities (government - in particular) 1919944 students and asked them 1875943 students in public universities by 97.71%, 44,001 students of universities by 2.29% and during the academic year 2006/2007.

  • Al-Azhar University came in first place at the level of public universities in terms of the number of students enrolled in the numbered 350,236 students by 18.67% of the total number of students in public universities, followed by Cairo University with 232,203 students by 12.38% of the total during the academic year 2006/2007.

  • Came in 6th of October University is ranked first at the level of private universities in terms of the number of students enrolled by as many 14,518 students by 32.99% of the total number of students enrolled in universities, followed by private Misr University for Science and Technology with 12,144 students or 27.60% of the total during the academic year 2006/2007.

  • The business schools ranked first in public universities with 408,808 students or 27.3% of the total college theory while the engineering colleges in the first place for a number of colleges process 89,633 students by 23.63% of the total during the academic year 2006/2007.

  • Both came from the faculties of Economics and Administration, Commerce ranked first in 6051 on the number of college students by 41.18% of the total college theory while pharmacy colleges in the first place for a number of colleges process 10,261 students by 35.01% of the total during the academic year 2006/2007.

  • The total faculty members and their staff in public universities and private 72,847 members, including 70,058 public universities by 96.17% in 2789 by member universities of 3.83% of the total teaching staff members, government and private universities during the academic year 2006/2007.

  • Per supervision of faculty members and their associates 27:1 to the number of students in public universities 16:1 private universities during the academic year 2006/2007.
    The total faculty member on loan in 7890, mostly Arab country as many 7255 members by 91.95% of the total loan during the academic year 2006/2007
