Egyptian labor abroad (temporary migration) in 2007

  • Decreased the gap between production and consumption to 6.6 million tons in 2007/2008 by 45.2% of the amount available for consumption while 7.2 million tons in 1985/1986 increased by 78.7% of the amount available for consumption.

  • The average per capita 183 kg in 2007/2008, while 182 kg in 1985/1986, an increase of 0.5%.
    Self-sufficiency rate of 54.8% in 2007/2008 while it was 21.2% in 1985/1986, an increase of 158.5%.

  • The value of commodity support Supply 16444 million pounds in 2007/2008 while it was 1982 million pounds in 1985/1986, an increase of 729.7%.

  • Support the value of wheat and flour 14217 million pounds in 2007/2008 while the 305 million pounds in 1985/1986, an increase of 4561.3%.
