Employment sample search results for the third quarter 2008

Issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics employment search results for the third quarter (July / August / September) of 2008, which pointed out that the unemployment rate during this period, 8.6% of the labor force, compared with 8.9% for the same period the previous year, the report pointed out the important points as follows:

First: the labor force:
1 - The size of the labor force:
A - The size of the labor force during that period, 24,807 million, an increase of 304 million and a per capita over the same period of 2007 by 5.5%.
B - The volume of the male labor force during that period, 19,370 million, an increase of 131 million and a per capita over the same period of 2007 by 6.2% and the volume of the female labor force 5,437 million, an increase of 173 thousand people from the same period in 2007 by 3.3 %.
C - represents the percentage of the labor force 32.3% of the total population in mid-2008.
2 - the rate of participation in the labor force:
A - according to the number of people:
Monitoring the relatively high rates of contribution to the work force as it hit 47.6% of the total population 15 years or more compared to the same period in 2007, which was 46.9%.
B - according to type:
The rate of contribution to the male labor force 72.8% compared to the same period in 2007 was 71.5%.
The rate of contribution to the labor force among females 21.3% compared to the same period in 2007 was 21.4%.
C - contribution rates in the labor force in rural and urban areas:
Monitoring of relative stability in the rates of contribution to the work force in the countryside as they hit 49.8% in the same period in 2008 while the value of 49.3% in the same period in 2007.
While the rates rose to contribute to the work force in a relatively urban hit 45.0% in the same period in 2008 compared to the same period in 2007 was 44.0%.
3 - the rate of economic dependency:
Characterized by economic dependency rates relatively stable in the period, amounting to 2.0 compared with their counterparts in 2007, which was 2.1, as well as between rural and urban areas, where rates of dependency in rural areas was 2.0 while 2.1 for the same period in 2007 As for the present rates of 2.1 compared with the same dependency period of 2007 was 2.2, which means that everyone working in Egypt, two of those who count are not working.

1 - according to the size of the labor force:

3 - Distribution of the number of workers in rural and urban areas:

B - The number of workers in the countryside during that period Functioned 13,297 million, an increase of 575 thousand worker from the same period of 2007 by 4.5%.
4 - according to the status of the process:

Third: unemployment:
1 - according to the size of the labor force:
According to the International Labor Organization standards, the number of unemployed stood at 2.121 million unemployed, an increase of 26 thousand unemployed people from the same period in 2007.
Unemployment rate was 8.6% while 8.9% during the same period in 2007.
The record was attended by the highest rates of Upper Egypt, where unemployment stood at 11.7% followed by the urban district, which stood at 11.6% and Lower Egypt, was attended by 10.6% and the lowest rates of unemployment in rural areas and border provinces of 3.2% in rural Upper Egypt, and 5.6%.
2 - according to type:
Decline in the unemployment rate among females compared to 18.3% 5.8% male.
That there is relative stability in the unemployment rate for both males and females compared to the same period the previous year, when it reached 19.4% of females and 5.9% among males.

3 - The unemployment rate in rural and urban areas, according to type:
A - the unemployment rate in urban areas 11.3% compared to 6.5% in rural areas.
B - The unemployment rate among males in urban areas amounted to 8.2% compared to rural areas, with 4.0%, as well as between urban women, with 22.3%, while in rural areas reached 15.3%.
4 - according to age groups:
More than 91.2% of unemployed young people aged between 15-29 years.
A - the unemployed aged between 15-19 years amounted to 424 thousand unemployed, or 20.0% of the total unemployed.
B - the unemployed aged between 20-24 years amounted to 69 thousand million unemployed by 50.4% of the total unemployed.
C - the unemployed aged between 25-29 years amounted to 442 thousand unemployed, or 20.8% of the total unemployed.
5 - According to the state of education:
The percentage of unemployed graduates and medium-sized university and above, about 86.5% of the total unemployed.
A - The number of unemployed who have the qualifications of 1,185 medium-million unemployed, or 55.9% of the total unemployed.
B - the percentage of male unemployed qualified medium 51.0% and 49.0% female.
C - the percentage of unemployed middle-qualified in the countryside by 53.0% compared to 47.0% in urban areas.
D - The number of unemployed university qualifications and above 649 thousand unemployed by 30.6%.
E - the percentage of male unemployed qualified university and above 54.7% and 45.3% female.
